The Sweet-Tooth Book Tag + what happened with nano

I created my own tag! ๐Ÿ˜€ Tags are seriously one of the most fun things in the universe.

(I’m totally not sure how tags get started, so I just figured someone had to create one and just tag people, so here goes…correct me if I am wrong.)

Rules:

  1. Thank and link back to the person who tagged you (thank you, me)
  2. Link back to the creator of the tag-www.jennaterese.com (also me ๐Ÿ˜› )
  3. Tag at least five sweet other bloggers. <3
  4. Add your own question to the end with your favorite treat. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Let your nominees know that they should pick 7 questions out of all of them to do (but yours included). That way the tag won’t get super-duper long with people adding their questions. ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s the questions!

1. OREOS. A book or series you couldn’t get enough of.

The Swipe series by Evan Angler. With this series I discovered I love sci-fi/futuristic fiction, and these books were so good! Great world-building and suspense on every page. I also loved any Nadine Brandes book.

2. LOLLIPOPS. A book you enjoyed as a little kid.

I had this tiny book of poems (mentioned in another tag) that I used to carry around with me literally everywhere. It got so worn that I had to hold it together with tape. ๐Ÿ™‚

3. SOUR PATCH KIDS. A book that reading once was enough.

Bell Mountain by Lee Duigon. I wanted to like this series because I appreciated the Christian themes, but it just didn’t really connect with me. I felt like the character development could’ve been done better. And when I don’t fully connect with the characters, I don’t fully connect with the story.

4. M & Ms. A really long series you liked.

The Kingdom series and Knights of Arrethtrae series by Chuck Black. I’ve read those both at least three times, and I don’t usually read books more than once.

5. KING-SIZED KIT KAT. A really long book you liked.

I actually don’t really own a really long book, but one of the longest books I’ve read lately was Fawkes.

6. THREE MUSKATEERS. Your favorite trilogy.

I’ve only completed one trilogy, the Out of Time series by Nadine Brandes. The MC, Parvin is the most relatable character I’ve ever read about. ๐Ÿ™‚

7. ALMOND JOY. A book that most people didn’t like, but you did (or vise versa).

Pride and Prejudice. Most of my friends really like the Jane Austen books, but they’re really not my type of book. I prefer action-packed adventures. ๐Ÿ˜‰

And there you have it! And now I am seriously craving some Oreos…

Now, what happened with NaNoWriMo…

Long story short, I didn’t reach 50k.

…or 25k.

That’s right, I didn’t even reach halfway. To be honest, November didn’t go like I thought it might. With this being my senior year of high-school, there’s just so much to do, so 2018 may not have been the best year to attempt this for the first time.

But I’m not super disappointed about it. I am a little disappointed that this month didn’t go like I’d hoped, but as for my word count, I’m totally fine with it. Because I got way more writing done in a month than I would have otherwise. And I’m really enjoying this novel too. I was afraid I was going to come out of nano hating it, but I don’t. Which is more important to me than reaching the 50k word count goal. ๐Ÿ™‚

So anyway, my total ending word count was 16,516 words. Tell me in the comments about how nano went for you, and what your ending word count was. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Write on,

Thank you for tagging me, dear! Excited to do this tag- though it might be a bit of a repeat from the Bibliophile tag. xD Actually, no, the questions are different! So that’s good. ๐Ÿ˜€

The Knights of Arrethtrae! I’ve never heard that series being talked about in Goodreads, but my friends outside Goodreads recommend it highly to me, so I want to read that. ๐Ÿ™‚

Yeah it is a little similar. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I can’t wait to see all your answers! ๐Ÿ˜€
Yes, Chuck Black books are really good clean Christian fiction.

Aussies have most of those sweets, except for the last two–I’ve never actually heard of them before!

Loved this tag though! The Out of Time series is just the best thing ever. <3

16k is still great, girl! Good on you for writing at least that much. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I scraped past at the end with 51k, though I had dropped behind several times over the month because of crazy busyness.

Yes, the Nadine books are the BEST! I just recently finished A Time to Rise, and it had the most satisfying ending ever. <333
I was kinda watching my writing buddies' word counts on the nano site, and the whole time I'm just like, "WHAT HOW DOES JANE WRITE SO FAST???" Nice job. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I concur with Jane Maree, I haven’t heard of some of these before but that’s okay. I may just be a rebel and change the sweets a little bit ๐Ÿ™‚ thanks for the tag.

I’ve done NaNo once, and it was really hard. Good job getting to 16,000!

I know, doesn’t even reading about food make you hungry? XD
Yay, another Swipe fan! ๐Ÿ˜€ Have you read them all? Which one’s your favorite?
Yeah, nano was definitely harder than I thought it would be. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for visiting!

That’s a hard question. I loved how Swipe introduced the world, but I felt like I really got to know the characters better in Sneak, and Storm was really exciting… I guess I don’t really know! I might have to reread them and try to figure that out. What was your favorite?
Your blog is really pretty! It’s so much fun to discover other fairly new reader/writer blogs.

I really like Swipe and Sneak. Actually, Spark was my least favorite; it didn’t hardly have any of the original characters!
Aw, thanks so much! ๐Ÿ˜€ <3
