About Resistance
“Don’t you know? Animals like you have no soul.”
Could God ever love a half-blood all of society looks upon with such fear and disdain? Jace once believed so, but when a tragic loss shatters the only peace he’s ever known, his faith crumbles as the nagging doubts he’s tried to put behind him descend on his grieving heart. With them come the haunting memories of the bloodstained past he longs to forget, but can never escape.
Taken from home at a young age and raised to serve the emperor, Kyrin Altair lives every day under a dangerous pretense of loyalty. After her unique observation skills and perfect memory place her into direct service to the emperor, Kyrin finds herself in further jeopardy as it becomes increasingly difficult to hide her belief in Elôm, the one true God.
Following the emperor’s declaration to enforce the worship of false gods under the penalty of death, many lives are endangered. But there are those willing to risk everything to take a stand and offer aid to the persecuted. With their lives traveling paths they never could have imagined, Jace and Kyrin must fight to overcome their own fears and conflicts with society as they become part of the resistance.

Now onto another exciting part of this post, an interview with the author!
What are you most excited about Resistance releasing in audiobook form?
I think I’m just really excited to be able to offer it in a new format and have it available for those who love audiobooks.
What was the best and hardest part of the audiobook process?
The best part was the excitement of seeing the audiobook available on Resistance’s Amazon page. It’s so much fun to see it available in Kindle, paperback, and audiobook. The hardest part of the process was proofing the chapters. It’s definitely time-consuming. But definitely worth it.
What was the inspiration behind the book/series?
Essentially, it all started with Jace. I was reading DragonQuest by Donita K. Paul and when it was revealed that my favorite character was half-blooded, that sparked the idea for Jace. The entire series grew around him, so while there are a lot of characters and plotlines, at its core, Ilyon Chronicles is Jace’s story.
When did you decide that you wanted to make Resistance into an audiobook?
I think I’ve always wanted to turn it into an audiobook. I actually had J. Grace Pennington narrate it for me a few years ago, but I decided the series really needed a male editor since the majority of the characters are male.
Can you tell us a bit about the process of making a book into an audiobook?
I went through the whole process using Amazon’s ACX website. I started out by finding a narrator I liked. I actually had Lance’s page bookmarked for a couple of years before I finally go around to contacting him and asking if he wanted to narrate for me. He recorded chapters, and I went through each one and marked any areas that needed to be re-read. Once I approved the final chapters, it was just a waiting game for Amazon to get it up for sale.
Where can we purchase the audiobook?
Resistance is available on Audible as well as iTunes.
