The Bookworm’s Tag

What could be better than a book-themed tag?

The answer is chocolate. And potatoes. But neither of them make a good tag subject. Many thanks to Heaven @The Book Cubicle for tagging me for this!

The Rules

  • Thank and link to the blogger who nominated you. Thanks again, Heaven!
  • Include the tag graphic in your post/Link to the original tag
  • Answer the ten questions the blogger asked
  • Nominate between five and ten bloggers
  • Ask your nominees ten book-related questions!
  • Don’t feel bound to these rules
  • (Most importantly) Have fun!

The Questions

01. What do you like most about reading?

Being transported to other places, whether real or fictional. Experiencing a connection to a character that an author crafted from nothing. I just love how stories can connect deeply to us.

02. What is one book that you give a 5 star rating?

You guys know what I’m gonna say… it’s a Nadine Brandes book, OF COURSE. All of the Out of Time series books were five-stars reads for me.

03. What is your least favorite genre?

Probably romance? I haven’t read a ton of genres outside of historical, fantasy, sci-fi, and contemporary, but I know that romance isn’t my favorite element of stories. Quite frankly, I don’t think all stories need it.

04. Do you prefer to read indoors or outdoors?

DEFINITELY indoors! I consider myself more of an indoor person all around anyway, but I just can’t stand Flying Beasts (aka flying bugs) bothering me and getting stuck in the pages of my book while I’m reading.

05. If you could only bring three books with you on a trip, what would they be?

Are you thinking what I’m thinking?

Out of Time trilogy? 😛 #sorrynotsorry

06. What book would you reread over and over?

Guys this is embarrassing. XD I have to say A Time to Rise by Nadine Brandes.

07. Does a book cover determine if you will read it or not?

To be honest, it does sway me a little bit. But I generally don’t let it alone decide if I read a book or not.

08. Where do you typically purchase your books?

Amazon. *shrugs* As an introvert, I prefer online shopping. 😉

09. Paperback, hardcover, or e-book?

Hardcover all. the. way. They’re just more…bookish.

10. If you could travel to any made-up literary world, where would you go?

As much as I love the Out of Time series, I’m not sure if I’d want to visit that world. XD But I do think it’d be great to visit Narnia (of course) and the world of The Weaver trilogy by Lindsay A. Franklin.

Tagging…

YOU! I don’t know who’s done this and who hasn’t, so if you’re reading this consider yourself tagged. 😉

Your questions…

01. What is your least favorite fictional world?

02. Narnia or Lord of the Rings?

03. Reading at night or during the day?

04. What’s the latest you’ve stayed up to read?

05. How many books are on your TBR? Be honest. 😉

06. What’s one genre you’ve never read, but would be willing to try?

07. What’s your favorite book cover you own?

08. Have you ever participated in a readathon?

09. What’s your favorite fictional creature?

10. What would your dream library look like?

Enjoy!

    01. What is your least favorite fictional world? –> Hm.. that’s a hard one. I would have to say a romance world. I don’t like romance books.

    02. Narnia or Lord of the Rings? —> *takes up sword* FOR NARNIAAAAAAAAAA! Does that answer the question?

    03. Reading at night or during the day?
I like both… mostly the day though.

    04. What’s the latest you’ve stayed up to read –> None, don’t have the time, lol XD

    05. How many books are on your TBR? Be honest. 😉
    I think I have 8. *Hides in a corner*

    06. What’s one genre you’ve never read, but would be willing to try? –> Uh… I don’t know. I don’t like trying new things that much. Maybe my own genre, Inspirational. XD

    07. What’s your favorite book cover you own? –> No idea on that one. I love the cover for my book by Gabby Douglas: Grace, Gold and Glory: My Leap of Faith 🙂

    08. Have you ever participated in a readathon? –> When I was a little kid at my local library.

    09. What’s your favorite fictional creature? –> No idea. I don’t see much. I would have to say the Terabithians in Bridge to Terabithia.

    10. What would your dream library look like? –> A beautiful book shelf with etched in detail in the framework. <3

“Hardcover all. the. way. They’re just more…bookish.”
    Me: RUDE!
Me upon reflection: I am not much of a bookish person…
    Me: *is offended* XD

I agree that not all stories need or should have romance. It’s refreshing really to not find every single book you pick up is about a romance of some kind. But I also enjoy it way too much that I don’t mind that a lot of stories have romance. XD I love a good book in the romance genre.
