Another blog tour!

• Tell us about The Diamond Village blog and your contribution to it!

Hey, Jenna! Thank you so much for having me here on your lovely blog today. 💛

The amazing Aditi @ One In A Million reached out to me a few weeks ago with a basic idea for this blog, and I was instantly hooked! I joined a fantastic group of bloggers, and together we decided the characters as well as the technical things behind the blog. Soon enough, The Diamond Village was born!

Basically, The Diamond Village is going to be a fun-filled fantasy blog where a bunch of bloggers—including myself—will be posting about all sorts of topics! We each have our own characters with a variety of roles in the village, and will be tying posts together with a bit of storyline along the way.

• What inspired the idea of The Diamond Village?

Well, I wasn’t the one who came up with the idea for this blog…credits go to Aditi. Here’s what her thought process was like when coming up with the idea!

Well, I’ve been blogging for about a year now, and have encountered a really wide variety of bloggers and blogs. Being a book-lover myself, I started to wonder how it would be if a blog had a storyline and plot- perhaps even characters! However, in that year, I didn’t see any blogs with plot at all (but The Quiet Pond, in fact, has characters! Definitely check the blog out because it’s absolutely adorable!), maybe because I’m following mostly book bloggers and most of my friends are book bloggers.

But this got me thinking, and after reading a few more posts from The Quiet Pond and falling in love with the idea of characters, I decided (rather impulsively, I might add- I probably mused over it for about ten minutes and sent out the emails right then!) that The Diamond Village would be a thing. I had little-to-no plan (but don’t tell my co-bloggers that- whoops, sorry Ash!) and no idea how it would turn out or whether anyone would say yes or support TDV.

Thanks to the speedy replies of the amazing bloggers I contacted, the Village was born. They’re the literal best team I could’ve worked with and I’m so grateful that they agreed! This couldn’t have been possible without them, or without the other kind bloggers like Jenna and others who are part of our blog tour.

• What are you most excited about with starting this blog?

I’m really excited for everything in general with TDV, but I have to say that the thing I can’t wait for is the storyline. All of us bloggers have created some unique characters with a variety of traits, and I know that it’s going to be a ton of fun bringing them to life! Incorporating a storyline into our posts is going to be a challenge, but I know that it’ll be extremely exciting to create as well.

The character I created is Sitara: the local village artisan. She resembles me in quite a few ways, and I can’t wait to bring her to life soon!

• Can you tell us about what kind of things are going to be posted?

We have a ton of exciting content planned for The Diamond Village! Each of our characters specialize in different things, so we have a wide variety of topics being posted. Here are a few…

• The main story-building posts letting everyone know what’s going on at the village
• Bookish posts incorporating natural elements like stars and gemstones with books
• Thought-provoking discussions talking about recent news, representation, information, and opinions
• Artsy tutorials such as calligraphy, crafting, and bullet journalling
• Collabs with other bloggers around the blogosphere

• In light of the blog’s theme, what are you favorite fantasy books or authors?

Ooh, that’s such a fun question! A few of my favorite fantasy books are…

Caraval by Stephanie Garber — I absolutely adore the beautiful prose in this novel! While reading Caraval, I was taken on a whirlwind of an adventure and ended the book craving for more.

Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin — This is one of my childhood favorites, but I still love it and can read it anytime! I love how Grace Lin captures a strong sense of culture and a relatable main character.

The Harry Potter series — I don’t really have to say much about this one. XD I grew up loving these books and still marvel at J. K. Rowling’s ability to craft such a massive world and twisting, surprising plot.
