The Sage Advice Tag

A good friend has tagged me for her original tag, the Sage Advice Tag. You HAVE to check out her post; it was super fun to read! Click here! This tag is so creative and has the potential of being both deeply wise and hilariously funny. Let’s get started!

The rules…

01. Thank the blogger who tagged you (if any). Thank you so much, Joy! <3

02. Share ten (10) pieces of sage advice and “notes to self” you have picked up from everyday life.

03. Tag at least four (4) bloggers and let them share their notes to self.

04. If all goes well, the blogiverse will be dotted with fun pieces of advice that could possibly save a life or two!

My bits of advice…

01. Don’t read and walk in public

At home, yes. But not when there are many eyes watching and ready to give odd looks when you run into the door frame again. I don’t care if it’s Barnes & Nobles and these are bookish people, running into a door frame is humiliating!

02. Stop drinking too much coffee, especially when you need to take pictures

I apologized once in my Realm Makers recap for some blurry photos. I had too much coffee, which causes my hands to shake. That must’ve looked weird for a teenage girl’s hands to be shaking like an elderly lady, trying to take a picture.

03. If you get your face too close to a horse’s, be prepared for the consequences

You always see these sweet, aesthetic, #goals pictures of girls hugging their horses or kissing their soft noses. I wonder how many attempts it took to get it right. Because the last time I tried to take a picture with a horse with my face close to his, I was the victim of his head-bump to my nose.

04. Don’t let busyness detract from a special moment

There have been too many times where I was too caught up in busy life stuff and preparations and routines that I missed enjoying a special moment with family or friends. I hate looking back on that. Don’t forget to just be in the moment.

05. Stop buying real plants for yourself

Obviously, this isn’t for everyone. I am known in my house for somehow killing any live plant I buy for myself. Not sure why, I try to take care of it well.

(note: I actually have two little succulents sitting on my window sill that are still doing pretty good *hopes they live to see another day* )

06. Drink water, even when you think you don’t need it

I have nearly passed out from dehydration a number of times. Not fun.

Narrator: And to this day she still does not drink enough water

07. Keep your nails short for playing music

Besides the annoying clicking of too-long nails on the piano keys, you don’t want to get your pinky nail caught between the keys again. Ouch-ie.

08. Don’t forget to write down sage advice for yourself

Many-a-time I have this good piece of never-should-forget advice that I don’t write down. And therefore, I do not remember.

09. Don’t bee too introverted to make friends

I think you all already know that I am committed to the introvert ways. Well, that’s all well and good, but it can get in the way of meeting new people and making new friends. Even though I “re-charge” by spending quiet alone time at home, I still enjoy spending time with friends. I don’t want to be too shy to introduce myself.

(note: if you are going to the Realm Makers conference this year and you see me and we know each other through some place or another, and I do not introduce myself to you, go ahead and introduce yourself to me. Because I most likely will forget this advice 😉 )

10. Keep enjoying those beautiful things, however small

I am a firm believer in looking for, noticing, and capturing those small beautiful things that make life sweet. Sunsets and sunrises, sunflowers, a beautiful poem, good laughter, genuine smiles, and a good chocolate milkshake.

Well, I hope that you enjoyed this unique tag, and maybe learned a few things from my advice. 🙂

Sounds like a fun tag! I might steal it for myself, if none of the above tagged tag me for it… and when I get back from hiatus…

I love this!! I write “note to self” all the time in my journal…it would make one crazy list. 😂 My mom is totally the same way with plants! And yep, very clumsy kitten right here. It doesn’t have to be a doorway. It can be the wall two feet down from said door.

Lol, yes any obstacles are dangerous while reading and walking. 😉 Feel free to steal the tag if you’d like!

Maybe I should do this tag sometime…
