Yes, yes, yes, I wasn’t supposed to return to blogging until January 1st. But I have a good reason for stopping my hiatus a day early…
There’s a new (AND TOTALLY EPIC!) writing competition coming up that I just have to tell you all about!!!
Oh, happy New Years Eve, by the way.
Two amazing writers, Kassie and Julia have begun this amazing, unique flash fiction writing competition called The Writer Games! And guess what?
…I’M ONE OF THE JUDGES!
I was so thrilled and honored when Kassie contacted me about participating as a judge. I couldn’t refuse! And their 2020 theme is gratatim ferociter! If you know me (and if you follow my other blog, Project Inspire) you know that I love this Latin phrase, meaning step by step, ferociously. <3
Here’s a bit about how the games work…
-Lasts from January 1st to Feb. 5th
-All times are Central time
-Flash Fiction
-500 words or less
-3 Elimination Rounds
-On the Fourth and final Round contestants will be assigned to a “Mentor” – a published author who they can get advice from on their final entry, geek about chocolate with, and plot to ruin readers’ dreams together.

Ooh, this sounds so cool! How long do the flash-fiction peices have to be?

ASDFGHJKL ME TOO!!! 😀
This sounds really fun! Unfortunately, I’m not sure if I can write a story in 500 words or less; keeping it below 1,000 is already a challenge for me. I’ll still check it out, though!
Yes, that is a challenge. No problem! 🙂
I cannot wait for this!!!! As soon as Julia posted something about it last month I signed up….I am so sticken excited!!!!!
YAY! I’m so glad you’ve signed up! 😀

Same to you, Kassie! <3
Hi my name is Kiara. Nice to meet you ! Love your blog!♥️
Are we allowed to write our flash fiction on whatever theme we want or are we given a particular theme or genre to write in each time?
The theme is ‘gradatim ferociter’: step by step, ferociously. But you’re free to get creative with how you want to incorporate that in your story. 😉
Oh, gotcha! Thanks!
