My 4 Most Anticipated Book Releases in 2020

There are some good books coming out this year.

Some continuations of series or a completely new one but equally squeal-inducing. I’m looking forward to adding these books to my TBR and getting my hands on a copy hopefully not too late after they release.

Let’s get into it!

01. For Whom the Sun Sings by W. A. Fulkerson (March 17)

for whom the sun sings cover.jpg

The world is blind…then one boy is born with sight.

Nestled in a mountain haven, the remaining people of the world live in a village that is ordinary but strict. A severe peace must be kept severely, as they say. It’s all that keeps them from descending into the chaos that claimed the world a hundred years ago.

Led by the Prophet Valdas and his Regents, the villagers work, play, marry, and have families. They gather in ceremony once a year to celebrate their Day of Remembrance. Life is planned, precise, and predictable until the special abilities of eleven-year-old Andrius threaten to undermine it all.

I’ve never heard of this author before. This just looked like an interesting read. πŸ™‚

02. The Story Hunter by Lindsay A. Franklin (May 19)

Redeeming the past is a fatal quest.

In the wake of a deadly coup, the capital city of Urian has descended into chaos. Heartbreak and bloodshed await Tanwen and her friends as they discover the unlikeliest leader now rules Tir.

If they want to save the realm, Tannie and the Corsyth weavers must rescue Queen Braith and unmask the Master, ending the strife once and for all. But the success of their hunt depends upon an ally no one trusts.

The Master has a new target in sight: fragile, trauma-scarred Digwyn, whose unique weaving ability could turn the tide of any war. When the desire for vengeance proves too powerful for Digwyn to resist, Tanwen must face a terrifying truth: the fate of Tir rests in the hands of a volatile, shattered girl.

Ugh, why is the release date so far away! I CANNOT wait for the this third book in The Weaver Trilogy! But it’s also kind of sad because it’s the last one. πŸ™

03. Cry of the Raven by Morgan L. Busse (Feb. 4)

cry of the raven cover.jpg

Lady Selene Ravenwood has come into her full power as a dreamwalker just as the war with the Dominia Empire begins. Working with the other Great Houses, Selene and Damien use their gifts to secure the borders and save those devastated by the war. But conflict, betrayal, and hatred begin to spread between the Great Houses, destroying their unity as the empire burns a path across their lands. At the same time, Damien Maris starts to lose his ability to raise the waters, leaving the lands vulnerable to the empire’s attacks.Β

The only one who can unite the houses and restore her husband’s power is Selene Ravenwood. But it will require that she open her heart to those who have hurt her and let go of her past, despite the one who hunts her and will do anything to stop her power.Β

Will Selene survive? Or is she destined to fall like the dreamwalkers before her?

I found out about Morgan at the Realm Makers conference in 2019 and decided to give The Ravenwood Saga a try. I’m so glad I did! It’s so unique and I loved the characters! This is the closest release, so I am super excited about this one.

04. Dust by Kara Swanson (July 21)

dust cover.jpg

The truth about Neverland is far more dangerous than a fairy tale.

Claire Kenton believes the world is too dark for magic to be real–since her twin brother was stolen away as a child. Now Claire’s desperate search points to London… and a boy who shouldn’t exist.

Peter Pan is having a beastly time getting back to Neverland. Grounded in London and hunted by his own Lost Boys, Peter searches for the last hope of restoring his crumbling island: a lass with magic in her veins.

The girl who fears her own destiny is on a collision course with the boy who never wanted to grow up. The truth behind this fairy tale is about to unravel everything Claire thought she knew about Peter Pan–and herself.

Okay, this release date is way too far…But the wait is worth it, I’m sure! I mean, LOOK AT THAT COVER!! It’s breathtaking and I’m sure the story matches it. I’ve read The Girl Who Could See by this author, so I’m sure Dust will be just as amazing.

I’m sure there are a bunch of other good books releasing this year; maybe I’ll do a part two of this. πŸ™‚
