Finally Fall Book Tag

Fall is here.

Oh, how I love this season. The colors, the wind, the pumpkin spice lattes. It’s perfect reading weather, if you ask me. Which is perfect because today we’re combining my love of autumn and books for the Finally Fall Book Tag! Elizabeth @An Attic Full of Paper tagged me for this one, and I can’t wait to get started!

This tag is giving me all the fall vibes. Let’s get into the questions!…

In fall, the air is crisp and clear: Name a book with a vivid setting.

Two books come to mind with this one. Emberhawk by Jamie Foley and The Weaver Trilogy by Lindsay A. Franklin. Both have beautifully vivid story worlds, and are probably some of my favorites.

Nature is beautiful… but also dying: Name a book that is beautifully written, but also deals with a heavy topic like loss or grief.

A Thousand Perfect Notes by C. G. Drews is a beautiful raw book, with music as a big part while also dealing with abuse.

Fall is back to school season: Share a non-fiction book that taught you something new.

The most recent non-fiction I’ve read is Called to Create by Jordan Raynor. FIVE STARS. Super amazing book about being a Christian entrepreneur. Definitely recommend it if you’re wanting to go that route.

In order to keep warm, it’s good to spend some time with the people we love: Name a fictional family/household/friend-group that you’d like to be part of.

I’ve always thought Parvin Blackwater (from the Out of Time series by Nadine Brandes) and I would be pretty good friends. 🙂 ALSO, wouldn’t it be awesome to tag along with the Pevensie siblings on their adventures in Narnia???

The nights are getting darker: Share a dark, creepy read.

I don’t really read dark, creepy books. But I’m always in the mood for Sherlock Holmes when fall rolls around, which is probably the best option for this answer.

Fall is the perfect time for some storytelling by the fireside: Share a book wherein someone is telling a story.

I…literally can’t think of one (sorry).

The days are getting colder: Name a short, heartwarming read that could warm up somebody’s cold and rainy day.

The Reluctant Godfather by Allison Tebo. SUPER sweet, SUPER cute, SUPER funny little story that just made me so happy. 🙂 10/10 recommend.

Fall returns every year: Name an old favorite that you’d like to return to soon.

I’d actually like to reread the Sherlock Holmes books soon (at least some of them).

Fall is the perfect time for cozy reading nights: Share your favourite cozy reading “accessories”!

Big blanket + mug of warm beverage = *happy sigh* Also, book-themed bookmarks and apparel are pretty cool too. 😉

And YOU!! 😀 Have fun!

Get outside and enjoy the fall weather! Or instead be like me and stay inside, wrap yourself into a blanket burrito and enjoy a warm drink. 😉

What’s your favorite book that deals with a heavy topic?

          Alrighty… here we go!

In fall, the air is crisp and clear: Name a book with a vivid setting.
I don’t read much fiction… mostly non-fiction out of anything. So, I’d say, “If You’re Gone” by Brittany Goodwin.

Nature is beautiful… but also dying: Name a book that is beautifully written, but also deals with a heavy topic like loss or grief.
Ooh! Easy! “Bridge to Terabithia” by Katherine Patterson! My favorite book of all time, other than the Bible.

Fall is back to school season: Share a non-fiction book that taught you something new.
I finished it a couple months ago: “Go” by Joshua Wagner, a book about evangelism. I also just read “Battlefield of the Mind” by Joyce Meyer.

In order to keep warm, it’s good to spend some time with the people we love: Name a fictional family/household/friend-group that you’d like to be part of.
I know, definitely the family of the CBC Original “Heartland”. And I also love the family of “Happy Days”.

The nights are getting darker: Share a dark, creepy read.
I don’t ever read creepy ones.

Fall is the perfect time for some storytelling by the fireside: Share a book wherein someone is telling a story.
Um… It’s not quite a fireside story. But I’d have to say one that’s close is, “Life After” by Katie Ganshert. DEFINITELY recommend it!

The days are getting colder: Name a short, heartwarming read that could warm up somebody’s cold and rainy day.
Yes!!! It is such a simple book, and so sweet at the same time. A novel, “Life Just Got Real” by Sadie Robertson.

Fall returns every year: Name an old favorite that you’d like to return to soon.
I don’t really have the time at all lol because of school, church, piano, and writing books. But I’ve been trying to get back to a wonderful non-fiction book, “Thriving in Life Through God’s Signals” by Dr. Edwin Miranda Jr. Every young person should read it.

Fall is the perfect time for cozy reading nights: Share your favorite cozy reading “accessories”!
If I could pick them, I’d say: My iPod, full of worship songs. My fuzzy blanket. My lava lamp (I love having it on whenever I can).
