Updates About this Blog +writing update

Things are changing.

If you’re like me, those words can either strike terror or excitement in you. (But don’t worry, it’s not bad news). But yes, things are going to be changing around here. As I work toward self-publishing my superhero story, Ignite, I’m rethinking how I will use my website as an author. Here’s what that will mean for you…

As I fine-tune how I manage my platforms as a writer and aspiring indie author, one of the biggest changes I want to make is about this blog. So here it is…

The biggest change is that I won’t be posting about writing here anymore. No more productivity advice, how-to posts, inspiration, etc. But don’t worry, this kind of content won’t end entirely. Some of you may know that I run a second blog called Project Inspire. There I will be posting content like I have been here (but also geared to artists of all mediums, not just writers).

So what will this blog be used for? Bookish things, updates about my books and publishing, news, etc., as I start this journey of indie publishing. Still, my monthly newsletter is the best place to get the exclusive updates and news from me. And I haven’t decided yet what to do about blog tags. In the future you may see me experimenting with answering tags on this blog and on Project Inspire.

For now, all the blog posts here will remain, though I may repost some from time to time on Project Inspire. If you still want creative content like I did on this blog, I encourage you to follow Project Inspire for that and more new things coming very soon. πŸ™‚

Writing Update

A lot has been happening lately. In the editing realm, of course. Because that’s all I’ve been doing for a year. *weary sigh* BUT the end is in sight because I finished yet another round of edits on Ignite and sent it off to an editor (the epic Jane Maree). I’m so excited to be working with her on polishing up my story. In the midst of that, I’m working on finishing up the last few scene outlines of Ignite‘s sequel, Embers, and begin writing it. I am SO THRILLED to be writing a first draft again! It’s been so long…

A plot bunny that is getting very big and fat and needy has butted in to try to grab attention from my bigger projects. It’s growing at a rapid rate, too heavy to sit on my lap and is now in a large cage. But the thing is I keep feeding it my brain space so it keeps growing. -_- Bits of plot are coming together, and it’s not like anything I’ve been working on recently. Here’s an aesthetic collage for the protagonist:

I like it quite a lot. πŸ™‚

But don’t worry, I haven’t completely forgotten about Skyracer. I’m hoping to have the Embers first draft finished before NaNoWriMo season rolls around, then plan on tackling Skyracer during that (I’m doing NaNo this year, just not in affiliation with the organization). So that’s pretty much it for now.

You can read the blurbs for my WIPs here.

I’m excited for the new things coming to Project Inspire, and I hope you are too. I’m always open to post suggestions, so hop over there and let me know what you want to see. Again, if you still want more writing/life updates, my newsletter is the best place for that. πŸ™‚

How’s your writing going?

Glad to hear you will still be posting your inspiration and productivity topics! My writing really isn’t going lol. I’ve been too busy with college that the most I’ve been able to work on my 2 WIP’s is one word doc page in one of the novels and then a paragraph in the other, and that was in late December. I can’t wait until college is over so I can work on them again! πŸ™‚
