What’s Going On With My Writing Right Now

I couldn’t get a post ready in time this week, so…

Alrighty, I thought today I’d just give you all wonderful people an update on what’s going on with my writing and my future plans for my books. Taking them one by one, first up is…

(get ready for some awesome covers ๐Ÿ˜› )

This is my futuristic dystopian. Originally, I was going to write this as a two book series, or maybe even a trilogy. But after writing the first part, I felt that I just needed to continue the story in the same book.

With the first part written and edited (only once though)…I, uh, already feel like rewriting it. No, I don’t mean editing it super hard, I mean rewriting the whole thing. I’ve already totally changed major things in the plot and setting, and I’ve added a few more characters. I also need to work on some other aspects of the story that I felt I would do better rewriting instead of editing it in.

Next up…

(I love this cover ๐Ÿ™‚ )

I’m finally picking up a historical again. I used to write historicals constantly, and I was completely tired of that genre for a long time. But after nearly a year, I’m writing one again. ๐Ÿ™‚ This is a Great Depression era story, and I’m currently working on outlining it. I may end up doing this for my first NaNoWriMo this year. ๐Ÿ˜€

And the next…

(title in progress. I just kinda slapped this one on for now…)

I’m currently outlining this one too. Yes, yes, I’m working on multiple books at the same time. I couldn’t decide between this one and the historical, so I just thought “Well, I’ll just do them both, thank you very much!”

This is a superhero book! I’ve wanted to write a superhero book for a while now, and I’m finally trying my hand at it. ๐Ÿ˜€

And the last one…

[just pretend there is a super nice cover here because I didn’t make one yet]

Title: Danni’s Dilemma

My novella, very near and dear to my heart. I am in love with the main character, Danni, because she’s just…Danni. Her own quirky self, which you will hopefully one day experience for yourself. ๐Ÿ™‚

I wrote this novella during the summer of 2017, and now I’m rewriting it, since I’ve learned SO MUCH about the writing craft since then. The plan for this one: self-publishing next year, Lord willing. Once I’ve finished rewriting it and my editor goes through it (a.k.a. Mom), I have a whole marketing/publishing plan that I can’t wait to dive into. ๐Ÿ™‚

And that’s that. I hope all of your writing projects are going well. ๐Ÿ™‚

You can read the blurbs of all these projects here.

Write on,

What about you? What are your current projects? I’d love to hear about your stories!

Ooh I’m interested in seeing what happens to Underneath if you end up rewriting it!
Currently my work in progress is the third book of my trilogy, which I’ve started the outline for! I’m hoping to start writing it sometime in September and I’m also tentatively planning a new novel for NaNoWriMo. So that’s exciting ๐Ÿ˜›
