So…quarantine has messed up my productivity.
Realizing this is what inspired last week’s post. I realized that I wasn’t getting as much done and wasn’t feeling as motivated. So guess what I did? I implemented those tips back into my life! This day (April 16th) is the first day I really structured my day since the start of quarantine…

8:00 am
good morning…
Mornings are my favorite part of the day (like you’ve never heard me say that before ๐ ). After I wake up I go to the bathroom to brush my teeth, wash my face, etc. I’ve been trying out this toothpaste by Moon (to see if it actually works). I use Trader Joe’s facial cleanser and moisturizer (adding essential oils to that) and aloe vera gel between the two.
Then…I crawled back into bed.
No, really. I got back in bed.
But not to sleep. ๐ It’s a comfy place for my Bible time. I read a bit from Isaiah and also Galatians on this day. I also read from Morning & Evening devotionals by Charles Spurgeon and Coffee Shop Devos by Tessa Emily Hall.

8:45 am
At this time of the morning, I had some pretty good lighting coming in my room, so I took some photos for Instagram. I use a couple white matte boards (probably just got them at a Walmart) for my background and light-reflecting. I edit my photos using VSCO.
It’s always super satisfying to do this and know I’m set for IG posts for the next week or so. ๐
ย
After my photo session and editing, I did things like check my email, answer blog comments, and do house chores. I got a teeny bit of work done in a biblical financial stewardship course before I started making brunch for the family. But I had to take my brunch to my room because of the next thing on my schedule…
ย
11:00 am
At 11 I had a webinar to attend about growing your email list. Aaaand I had another webinar after that about book marketing…
So yeah, I was basically sitting in webinars from 11am to 2:15pm.
ย
After the webinars I practiced piano. My favorite piece that I’m working on is a Sonatina by Clementi. My all-time favorite music to play is Helen Jane Long, if anyone’s wondering. ๐
After that I did some writing (+snack time!); just some more scene outlines for Skyracer. It seems this one will be a bit longer than Embers, which was about 82k words. I wasn’t feeling super motivated this day, so I didn’t get as much done as I thought I would.
ย
Evening…
We went on a family bike ride before dinner (that was fun but ALLERGIES GUYS). We ate chili for dinner and watched some of a cute 60’s show, Family Affair. <3
ย
And that was pretty much my day! ๐ I hope you enjoyed this little look into a quarantine day in my life. I hope you all are doing well and staying healthy! <3

What are you doing during quarantine?

Ahhh I love Helen Jane Long. Her music is so pretty. <3
Yesss! <3 Do you have a favorite song or album of hers?
Sounds like you had a fun day!
๐ Yup!
Loved seeing a little insight into your day!! I really enjoyed reading this! <3
๐ I’m glad you enjoyed it, Olivia! <3
i definitely agree that quarantine is messing up my productivity! these days, i can only be super productive or a complete mess… there’s no in-between. ๐ i loved reading about your day, though, Jenna! sounds like you had fun โค
Same! XD Thanks for reading! <3
Aw, your day sounds so peaceful and cozy! ๐ Thanks for the small glimpse into your life. โค๏ธ
๐ <3 Glad you enjoyed it, Eden!
It’s kind of crazy, but I’ve actually been more productive since my days aren’t filled with interruptions like babysitting and errands, etc. I’ve been riding more, playing with my younger siblings more (lots of jumping on the trampoline- it’s great exercise ;), and lots of reading. Have you seen the Andy Griffith Show? It’s such a fun, wholesome, family 60’s show. I love it. ๐
This was so fun to read! I like seeing what a normal day looks like for other people. CHILI IS SO GOOD, but especially the recipe my mom and dad make. *yum*
That’s great, Kendra! AHH YES the Andy Griffith show is one of my family’s favorites! ๐
So glad you enjoyed reading this! <3
We’ve been watching a lot of the Andy Griffith show these days; it’s fun and lighthearted. We laugh so hard over it, which is just what we need these days. ๐
Yes, it’s the perfect show right now. : Have you seen the Dick Van Dyke show?
What a good routine! Mine had to change a little but not much really. It seems my routine fits with quarantine well. ๐ I’m just curious, what was different from quarantine and normal?
That’s great that your routine still works well in quarantine. ๐ As for my schedule, it wasn’t a super drastic change since my family homeschools already. But I just had to adjust to not having any other activities to go to, which somehow added more structure to the day. I just had to better learn how to manage my time and self-motivate. ๐
Sounds like a fun day!! ๐
If I got back in bed for my devotions, I would probably fall back asleep during my prayer time. lol
๐
lol sometimes I do have to be careful of that XD
I LOVE Family Affair!!! ๐ Also, biking. So basically your day sounds like perfection to me. ๐โค๏ธ
OOH YAY! ๐ Thanks for reading, Mariposa! <3
