20-Question Book Tag no. 2! + a little announcement

Book tags always make me happy.

I was tagged by Ash Ronnel for the 20-Questions Book Tag (check out her blog, it’s awesome!). I’ve done this tag once before, but I’m really glad I get to do it again. Some of my answers have changed…

The questions…

01. How many books are too many in a series?

In my opinion, no more than five. I’m not a big fan of long series. Trilogies are my sweet spot.

02. How do you feel about cliff-hangers?

I love-hate them. I love the anticipation they give me for the next book, but I also…hate…that anticipation. That means waiting. Sometimes a long time if the next book isn’t even out yet.

03. Hardcover or paperback?

HARDCOVER ALL THE WAYYY! I love hardcover books! They stay nicer longer, hold up better for book photos, and they just feel moreย bookish.ย And they stand up well to fangirling hugs.

04. Favorite book?

I don’t even know why this question is here. I mean, NO ONE HAS ONLY ONE FAVORITE BOOK, YA KNOW??? But anyway ๐Ÿ˜‰ …

  • The Out of Time series by Nadine Brandes
  • A Thousand Perfect Notes by C. G. Drews.
  • The Swipe series by Evan Angler
  • The Ilyon Chronicles by Jaye L. Knight.

05. Least favorite book?

The first book in the Bell Mountain series by Lee Duigon. I don’t know if this is my absolute least favorite,ย but I for sure didn’t like it. Which is unfortunate because I own the whole series…

06. Love triangles, yes or no?

I like them if they are done well; I think they can add a lot of juicy conflict to the stories. But, sadly, they aren’t always done well. ๐Ÿ™

07. The most recent book you couldnโ€™t finish?

It’s been a long time since I couldn’t finis a book. But I think it was The Book Thief.ย Yes, it’s such a popular book, but I wasn’t sure if I was comfortable with the language in it. May revisit that one…

08. A book you are currently reading?

Mark of the Raven by Morgan L. Busse. A book I got at Realm Makers; so far it’s super good!

09. Last book you recommended to someone?

It was The Songkeeper by Gillian Bronte Adams. I recommended it to a pen pal who really likes fantasy.

10. Oldest book youโ€™ve read? (publication date)

Um, the Bible? I don’t think I’ve read a book older than that. ๐Ÿ˜‰

11. Newest book youโ€™ve read? (publication date)

100 Days of Sunlight by Abbie Emmons. I read it about a week after the release date on August 7th.

12. Favorite author?

Nadine Brandes! ๐Ÿ˜€

13. Buying books or borrowing?

I definitely prefer buying books. I like to be aaaaaaallll miiiiinnnne. ๐Ÿ˜›

14. A book you dislike that everyone seems to love?

The 49th Mystic by Ted Dekker. I don’t know a lot of people who have read this, but a lot seem to like it. I, personally, didn’t like the writing style.

15. Bookmarks or dog-ears?

BOOKMARKS. I do not understand it when people bend the beautiful papery pages of their lovely novel. Brings tears to my eyes.

16. A book you can always reread?

The Out of Time series. I haven’t re-read them yet, but it’s been on my mind for a long time. Which says a lot, because normally I really dislike re-reading books.

17. Can you read while hearing music?

If the music is instrumental. But if I like the song too much then I will start listening and stop reading.

18. One POV or multiple POVs?

I prefer one POV in first-person; it feels more connected with the protagonist. But multiple POVs can be suuuper interesting too.

19. Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?

I can’t remember the last time I had enough time to sit and finish a book in one sitting. So yeah, it has to be done over multiple days. ๐Ÿ™‚

20. Who do you tag?

I’m tagging…

Penny

Dekreel

Catwing

Abigail

…and YOU! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Enjoy and have fun!

You may be the first person Iโ€™ve heard say they actually like love triangles…? As a whole I canโ€™t usually stand romance, nonetheless love triangles. ๐Ÿ˜‚ My favorite author is Douglas Bond. ๐Ÿ‘ And ooh, Iโ€™m huge on rereads…Iโ€™ve reread just about every book I own at some point…itโ€™s bad. ๐Ÿ˜†

Wow…another unpopular opinion by Jenna Terese. XD
      Douglas Bond’s books are awesome!

XD I agree with you being uncomfortable with the language in the Book Thief… I actually loved the book itself but the language (as with pretty much any book with many bad words) just felt… unnecessary. There’s a lot better ways to show a person as a bad character without them using cuss words, in my opinion. โ˜บ
I read Fawkes and Romanov (Which both I and my sister loved, and we don’t normally like the same types of books) by Nadine Brandes but I haven’t gotten to the Out of Time series yet because our library doesn’t have them.

      TRUE WORDS.
I’m so glad you liked Romanov and Fawkes! I hope you’ll like the Out of Time series just as much, whenever you’re able to get your hands on them. ๐Ÿ˜€
