Looking Back {May wrap-up}

It feels like May just flew by in a busy flurry!

When does a month not go by in a busy flurry?

Reading

Finished…

  • Becoming Mrs. Lewis by Patti Callahan. Didn’t love this as much as expected. It was the author’s fictional take on Joy Davidman’s life, and frankly, I didn’t really like how she wrote it. 2.5 stars.
  • If I’m Found by Terri Blackstock. Ah, LOVE THIS SERIES! I finished this one in two days. I absolutely love Casey; she’s just one of those do-what’s-right-no-matter-what kind of girls, and I like that. As usual, super suspenseful! 5 stars.
  • If I Live by Terri Blackstock. Wasn’t as good as the first two  in the If I Run series in my opinion, and the characters did some things that were completely out of character, but still a good one and a satisfying completion to this trilogy. 4 stars.
  • The Resistance by Douglas Bond. Bond is probably my favorite historical fiction writer. It’s like he was born to write in this genre. Whenever I break out of my sci-fi/dystopian/action/adventure trend to read one of his books, it reminds me how much I still love this genre. 5 stars.

Reading now…

  • So Help Me God by Roy Moore. I just need to finish this already…
  • Kisses from Katie by Katie Davis Majors. I’m not very far into it, but it is SO GOOD already!

Writing

Um, so, writing was pretty much non-existent because any little spare time I get I work on outlining my superhero WIP, Embers. It’s been so much fun playing with a new idea, that I haven’t gone back to Underneath in a while. *feels a little guilty*

Total word count: um…zero

Life Stuff

  • Saw Dumbo. My older brother and I (who grew up with the original animated Dumbo) still like the old one better, while my two younger siblings (who did not really grow up with the older Dumbo) like this newer one better. Despite my preference towards the original, this one was pretty good. Mostly because Dumbo was SO. ADORABLE. <3
  • Getting closer and CLOSER to graduating (!!!)
  • Saw the second Lego Movie. Wasn’t a big fan of the first and I feel the same about the second unfortunately.

May has been a flurry of activity (I feel like I say this every month). So much has been going on. But all in all, it’s still been a great month. 🙂 June looks like another busy month, but I’m looking forward to a lot of great things happening. I hope your May was awesome, and I hope that June will be another great month for you!

I haven’t seen Dumb yet; I actually don’t remember the original one very well since I haven’t seen it since I was four. 😜 Nevertheless, I’m still looking forward to watching it. 😊

Btw, I did watch Ralph Breaks the Internet. You are right; the first one was better. 🙂 I thought I might like this one better simply because of the creativeness and humor of the Internet world, but the plot didn’t live up to the quality of the world building, unfortunately. 😛
