Monthly wrap up number 2! I hope everyone had an awesome April. Here are some highlights about my month…
Reading
Finished…
- The 49th Mystic by Ted Dekker. 3.5 stars. The writing was well done, I just don’t think it’s my taste. Still, I’d like to read the second book in the series.
- If I run by Terri Blackstock. 5 stars. I loved this book! It has suspense on every page that kept me reading and reading. I can’t wait to get my hands on the other two books in this series.
- Album of Horses by Marguerite Henry. I had forgotten how much I loved Henry’s beautiful writing style until I read this! Definitely a must-read for anyone who loves horses.
Reading now…
- Becoming Mrs. Lewis by Patti Callahan. Super interesting book so far about C. S. Lewis’ wife, before she became his wife. 🙂
- So Help Me God by Roy Moore. Yes, still reading this one…
Writing
Writing this month wasn’t super good either, but I’m having fun working on the plot for my superhero novel, Embers.
Total words written this month: 1,533 (and this was on the superhero novel that I’M NOT EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE WRITING YET!)

Life Stuff
- Saw Ralph Breaks the Internet. It goes without saying in my household that first movies are always better than the second. Even though this started out pretty cringe-y, there were several bust-a-gut laughing moments. It was really interesting to see how they portrayed the internet, social media, video games, and online business.
- Saw Mary Poppins Returns. Again, the first one will always be better, but I still LOVED this one! My favorite song was “Place Where the Lost Things Go” (not sure if that’s actually the title). I plan on finding some piano sheet music for it. 🙂
- Saw Unplanned. A powerful and moving story of a woman who was a successful director at a Planned Parenthood clinic, and how what she saw caused her to leave her job. If you’re going to see this, bring a box of tissue with you…
- Tried mochi ice cream for the first time. Mochi ice cream is a confection made from Japanese mochi with an ice cream filling. Mochi is a kind of rice dough, I believe. I know, sounds weird, but I thought it was pretty good! I tried three flavors; vanilla, chocolate, and blood orange. Vanilla was the best. 😉
- Saw Breakthrough. Movie based on the true story of a boy’s miraculous recovery from falling through the ice on a frozen lake and being under water for 15 minutes. You need tissue for this one too…
Well, this was the month for movies. 😀
I hope you all had a great April. May you have a blessed May as well (anyone looking forward to summer break?)

Neat! I hope you have a great May!
Thanks! Same to you, Lydia!
I. LOVE. MOCHI. I’m so jealous. 😂 “The Place Where the Lost Things Go” had me crying in the movie theater. 😢 (We’ve actually decided we like Mary Poppins Returns better, although I still like Bert better than Jack for no reason at all😆)
Lol, I wasn’t expecting anyone to know what Mochi was (I didn’t before tasting it), that’s awesome! 😄 Yes, I love that song! I liked Bert better too. 😊
I love your wrap-up posts. 🙂 ❤️ I haven’t seen any of those movies yet, but I’m planning on watching Ralph Breaks the Internet soon. 😉
Thank you. 😊 Cool! Definitely let me know what you thought when you see it. 😉
I love this!
Wait, you already saw breakthrough? It doesn’t come out till August here, sadly.
Would you recommend “Ralph Breaks the internet”? I want to see it, but I have heard mixed reviews.😉
Great post!

Aw, not until August? Sorry about that. I hope you like it though!
Yeah, I would recommend it. The beginning isn’t so good but it gets better as you go. 😉
Thanks!
